Beyond the main story, Vice City is packed with optional side missions and challenges. Complete these for rewards, unlocks, and progress toward 100% completion. All are required for 100% except where noted.

Vehicle Sub-Missions

Firefighter — Level 12

Enter a firetruck and start the mission. Race to vehicle fires across Vice City and extinguish them before the timer runs out. Each level adds one more fire to extinguish.

Tip: Complete this FIRST — the reward makes Tommy fireproof, which helps with every other mission. Steal a firetruck from the fire station in Ocean Beach.

Paramedic — Level 12

Pick up patients in an ambulance and deliver them to the hospital. Each level adds one more passenger. Time is tight, so avoid collisions.

Tip: Do this in Vice Point near the hospital — short distances. The ambulance tips easily, so brake early and take turns wide. Reward: infinite sprint.

Vigilante — Level 12

Use any police vehicle (including the Hunter helicopter) to chase down and destroy criminal vehicles. Each level increases the number of targets.

Tip: Use the Hunter helicopter (if unlocked) or a VCPD Cheetah for speed. Ram criminals into walls or shoot their vehicles. Reward: 150 armor capacity.

Taxi Driver — 100 Fares

Pick up passengers and drive them to their destinations. Complete 100 total fares (not in one sitting).

Tip: Don’t follow traffic rules — go off-road if faster. Keep the taxi intact or passengers bail. Reward: Bandit taxi with nitro at hideout.

Pizza Boy — Level 10

Deliver pizzas on the Faggio scooter within the time limit. Throw pizzas at marked houses.

Tip: The Faggio is very slow — plan short routes. You can throw while moving. Reward: Health boost to 150.

Pay Phone Assassinations (Mr. Black)

Road Kill

Run over the target on Washington Beach with any vehicle. He runs fast — use a fast car.

Tip: The target spawns near Washington Mall — wait in the parking lot and accelerate when he appears.

Waste the Wife

Kill Mrs. Dawson in a car accident. She drives a Bobcat — ram her vehicle until it explodes.

Tip: Must look like an accident — no weapons. Use a heavy vehicle like a Patriot to ram her off the road.

Autocide

Kill 5 targets across Vice City within a time limit. Each is a lookalike of a famous game character.

Tip: Use a fast motorcycle or helicopter. Plan your route on the map before starting — target the closest ones first.

Check Out at the Check In

Kill the target at Escobar International Airport. He’s guarded and will flee.

Tip: Park a vehicle blocking the exit before starting. Use a sniper rifle from the parking garage for a clean shot.

Loose Ends

Kill the target and his guards at the marina, then escape. Multiple enemies.

Tip: Bring full armor and health. Use the rocket launcher on the target’s boat from the dock, then escape by water.

Street Races (Sunshine Autos)

6 Street Races

After purchasing Sunshine Autos, talk to the race coordinator. Each race costs an entry fee and pays cash for winning.

Tip: Use the Cheetah, Infernus, or Banshee. Memorize the course first. Don’t fight rival racers — drive clean and fast.

Stadium Events (Hyman Memorial Stadium)

Bloodring

Survive a demolition derby. Destroy all enemy vehicles while keeping yours intact.

Tip: Ram opponents into walls. Drive in circles around the arena and let enemies crash into each other.

Dirtring

Complete laps on a dirt track within the time limit. Collect checkpoints in order.

Tip: Use the Sanchez dirt bike. Lean forward for speed, brake before jumps to avoid flipping.

Hotring

A NASCAR-style stock car race. Complete 12 laps against opponents.

Tip: Tap enemies into walls. Avoid PIT maneuvers from rivals. Drive clean and consistent — 12 laps is about consistency, not aggression.

RC Vehicle Challenges

RC Bandit Race

Race a tiny RC car through a checkpoint course at Top Fun van locations.

Tip: The RC car is twitchy — make tiny steering adjustments. Let off accelerate before corners.

RC Baron Race

Fly an RC plane through checkpoints.

Tip: Tap controls gently. The Baron stalls if you climb too steeply — keep level flight.

RC Raider Pickup

Control an RC helicopter to collect checkpoints.

Tip: The RC heli is extremely sensitive. Practice hovering. Collect ground-level checkpoints before high ones.

Checkpoint Challenges

Cone Crazy

Navigate through traffic cones within a time limit. Located at the Malibu Club parking lot.

Tip: BEST early-game money exploit: the reward doubles every replay, up to tens of thousands per run. Use a Sanchez.

PCJ Playground

Ride a PCJ-600 through a checkpoint course around Vice City.

Tip: Lean forward on straights for top speed. Don’t crash — resetting wastes precious seconds.

4 Chopper Checkpoints

Fly a helicopter through rings around four districts: Ocean Beach, Vice Point, Little Haiti, Downtown.

Tip: Use the Maverick. Fly at medium altitude. Each checkpoint appears in a line — follow the trail.

Dirt Track Time Trials

Test Track & Trial By Dirt

Race around the dirt track at Hyman Memorial Stadium on a Sanchez. Two versions, both directions.

Tip: Lean forward on straights. Brake before corners — the Sanchez slides on dirt. Complete both directions.

Store Robberies (15 Stores)

Rob All 15 Stores

Walk into any of 15 specific stores, aim a weapon at the clerk. Wait for cash to stack, then collect.

Tip: The counter fills with cash — wait until it maxes before grabbing. You’ll get 2 stars. Have a fast escape car ready outside.
