Viceport

Overview

Viceport is Vice City’s industrial harbor — cargo containers, cranes, warehouses, and ships from every corner of the world. It’s the entry point for everything that comes into Leonida legally and the exit point for everything that leaves illegally.

Ports are the circulatory system of any coastal city — everything flows through them. In Vice City, the port is where drug shipments arrive, where stolen cars are exported, and where people who ask too many questions end up in containers.

Rockstar describes the VC Port as ‘the cruise ship capital of the world.’ It’s both a legitimate commercial hub and a criminal superhighway.

In the Game

In the original Vice City, the docks were a key mission location — drug deals, ship hijackings, and the memorable mission where Tommy helps Cortez escape by sea.

In GTA 6, Viceport returns as a massive industrial area with cargo operations, smuggling opportunities, and connections to Jason’s drug-running network through the Keys.

Then vs Now

The original port was a simpler area — a few docks and warehouses. GTA 6’s Viceport is a massive, detailed industrial zone with container yards, cranes, and the infrastructure of a real mega-port. The scale reflects 40 years of growth in global shipping.

Real-World Inspiration

Based on PortMiami — the largest passenger cruise port in the world and one of the largest cargo ports in the US. PortMiami processes over $30 billion in cargo annually.

Trivia

  • PortMiami is the cruise capital of the world — handling more passengers than any other port.
  • The port is a major hub for both legitimate trade and drug trafficking.
  • GTA 6’s Viceport connects directly to the maritime drug-running storyline.
