Overview

Downtown Vice City is the commercial and financial center of 1986 — skyscrapers, the bank, the construction site, and the kind of money that flows through corporate accounts before ending up offshore.

Downtown is where the big scores happen. The bank heist — one of Vice City’s most iconic missions — takes place here. The skyscrapers are shorter than modern Vice City, but the ambition is the same: build tall, make money.

In the Game

Key Downtown locations include the bank (heist target), the construction site (Avery Carrington’s domain), and the VCN building (where you find the Maverick helicopter).

Downtown is also where some of the best vehicles spawn — the Sentinel and Stallion appear frequently here.

Then vs Now

Downtown 1986 was the beginning of Miami’s vertical expansion. In GTA 6’s modern Vice City, Downtown has completed that transformation — taller towers, bigger money, deeper corruption.

Based on Downtown Miami — in 1986, the area was undergoing rapid development driven by Latin American investment and the cocaine boom.
