Mount Kalaga National Park

OFFICIAL SCREENSHOTS

Overview

Mount Kalaga National Park is Leonida’s wilderness frontier — forests, trails, wildlife, and the kind of isolation that heals the soul or hides the body. Hunting, off-roading, and exploring in a completely different environment from Vice City’s beaches.

Mount Kalaga adds a forest/mountain biome to GTA 6’s already diverse map. From the neon of Ocean Beach to the sawgrass of Grassrivers to the forests of Mount Kalaga — Leonida is a state of many worlds.

In the Game

The national park setting opens up new gameplay possibilities: hunting, off-road driving, wilderness exploration, and missions that use the terrain for stealth or ambush.

GTA 6’s wildlife system is confirmed to include alligators, boars, dogs, snakes, raccoons, birds, frogs, bobcats, and rodents — many of which would appear in wilderness areas like Mount Kalaga.

Then vs Now

The original Vice City had no wilderness area. Mount Kalaga is entirely new — a product of GTA 6’s massively expanded map that spans an entire state, not just a city.

Real-World Inspiration

Based on northern Florida forests and national forests like Ocala National Forest and Osceola National Forest.

Florida isn’t just beaches — the northern part of the state has extensive pine forests, springs, and wildlife management areas.

Ocala National Forest is the southernmost national forest in the continental US.

Trivia
