100% COMPLETION CHECKLIST
Everything You Need for Done It All
Getting 100% completion in Vice City is a serious commitment. There are over two dozen categories of tasks spanning story missions, side activities, collectibles, and skill challenges. This checklist breaks down every single requirement with practical tips to get you there — whether you’re going for the “Done It All” achievement or just want to squeeze every last drop out of the city. Take it one section at a time, and remember: some tasks unlock rewards that make later tasks much easier.
Story Missions
Complete All 24 Main Storyline Missions
The backbone of the game. Follow Tommy Vercetti’s rise from a botched drug deal to kingpin of Vice City. Missions are given by key characters including Ken Rosenberg, Colonel Cortez, Ricardo Diaz, Avery Carrington, and Tommy’s own operations once you acquire property. Most become available progressively as you complete earlier ones — the final main storyline mission is “Keep Your Friends Close,” which unlocks once you’ve built your empire.
Tip: Mission strands unlock in a specific order. Complete Rosenberg’s missions first to open Cortez and Diaz strands. Diaz’s missions are where the story opens up — finishing “Rub Out” unlocks asset properties and gives Tommy his own mansion. Stock up on armor and health before tough missions like “The Job” or “Copland” — there’s no checkpoint system in the original game, so a mid-mission death means starting over from the beginning.
Complete All 13 Gang Missions
After completing the main storyline mission “Shakedown” (the first Vercetti Estate mission), gang mission strands become available from several characters: Umberto Robina (Cuban Gang — Little Havana), Auntie Poulet (Haitian Gang — Little Haiti), Love Fist’s manager Jezz Torrent missions, Phil Cassidy (army buddy with weapons missions), and Mitch Baker (Biker Gang — Downtown bar). These total 13 missions across all strands.
Tip: Umberto Robina’s missions are accessed at the café in Little Havana; Auntie Poulet’s at her shack in Little Haiti. Phil Cassidy’s mission “Gunner” is among the tougher ones — use the rocket launcher generously. Complete the Haitian and Cuban strands to reduce gang hostility in those neighborhoods. Mitch Baker’s missions are available at the Greasy Chopper bar in Downtown once unlocked.
Complete All 5 Phone Assassination Missions
After buying the Malibu Club asset and completing the mission “No Escape?”, a payphone near the Washington Beach ammu-nation begins ringing. Answering it connects you to Mr. Black, a mysterious figure who contracts five hit jobs. Each mission tasks you with eliminating a specific target using a described method.
Tip: The payphone is located in Washington Beach, on the sidewalk near the ammu-nation store. New assassination contracts unlock after completing the previous one — answer the phone again after each hit. Some targets are in vehicles and must be run off the road or shot through the window; use a drive-by with an Uzi. Bring full health and armor since some targets fight back or are guarded.
Complete All Asset Missions
Properties become purchasable after the mission “Rub Out.” Each business you buy generates income once its associated asset mission is completed. There are multiple asset properties: the Pole Position Club, Kaufman Cabs, Print Works, Ice Cream Factory (Cherry Popper), Film Studio, Sunshine Autos, Boatyard, Malibu Club, Phil’s Place, and the Vercetti Estate itself. Each requires you to complete one or more specific missions before it starts generating money.
Tip: The total cost of all properties exceeds $200,000. Prioritize cheap assets first: Kaufman Cabs ($40,000) and the Pole Position Club ($30,000) are great early buys. The Print Works ($70,000) is required to progress the endgame — its missions “Spilling the Beans” and “Hit the Courier” must be done before the final story mission unlocks. Complete asset missions early so passive income funds your remaining purchases.
Side Missions & Activities
5 Vehicle Sub-Missions (Level 12 Each)
Complete Level 12 in each of the five vehicle-based side missions: Paramedic (Ambulance), Firefighter (Fire Truck), Vigilante (Police car or Rhino), Taxi Driver (Cabbie/Kaufman Cab), and Pizza Boy (Pizza Boy scooter in Vice Point). Each requires reaching Level 12 — meaning 12 consecutive levels without failing or exiting the vehicle.
Tip: Do Firefighter FIRST — reaching Level 12 makes Tommy completely fireproof, which is invaluable for the rest of the game. Paramedic gives max health; Vigilante gives 150 armor; Taxi gives a boost to the Kaufman Cab’s performance. For Pizza Boy, use the scooter at the Well Stacked Pizza in Vice Point. Paramedic is the hardest — do it on the first island before the second city unlocks to keep pickup distances short. Park the vehicle at a Pay ‘n’ Spray for Vigilante to instantly repair mid-mission.
4 Off-Road Challenges
There are four off-road checkpoint challenges scattered around Vice City: Test Track (Dirt Track) at the dirt bike area north of the Malibu, Trial By Dirt (two separate courses), and another track variation. Each requires you to pass through all checkpoints within a time limit, typically on a Sanchez dirt bike.
Tip: Always use the Sanchez — it has the best handling on dirt by a wide margin. Lean forward (push up on the stick) for speed on straights. Take the checkpoints smoothly rather than crashing through them — hitting trees or obstacles wastes precious seconds. If you fail, the challenge resets immediately. The dirt track entrance is the dirt path near the Malibu Club in Washington Beach.
3 RC Vehicle Missions
Three remote-control vehicle challenges: RC Bandit Race (RC car race, top of a parking garage in Vice Point), RC Baron Race (RC plane, same general area), and RC Raider Pickup (RC helicopter collecting checkpoints). Each is started from a specific Top Fun van located around the map.
Tip: These are notoriously difficult due to twitchy controls. The RC helicopter mission (RC Raider) is the hardest — practice the controls before attempting seriously. For the RC Bandit car race, tap the acceleration gently rather than holding it to avoid spinouts. The RC Baron plane controls are sensitive; make small, gentle corrections. Find the Top Fun vans in Vice Point, at the North Point Mall area, and near the airport.
6 Street Races at Sunshine Autos
After buying the Sunshine Autos asset, six street races become available downstairs in the showroom. They range from short sprints to longer circuits around Vice City. You must win all six to check this off your list — placement in any other position does not count.
Tip: Use the fastest car available — the Infernus, Cheetah, or Banshee are top choices. You can bring your own car to the race start rather than using what’s provided. Shoot out rivals’ tires before the race starts for an easy edge (they won’t fight back during the pre-race countdown). Learn the routes — some have sharp turns where braking early beats crashing into walls. A fully repaired, tuned car from your garage gives a real advantage.
3 Stadium Events (Bloodring, Dirtring, Hotring)
The Hyman Memorial Stadium in Downtown hosts three rotating events, each available only on specific nights of the week: Bloodring (a demolition derby in a blood-bowl arena — Tuesday and Friday), Dirtring (a dirt bike checkpoint course — Monday and Thursday), and Hotring (a stock car race on an oval track — Wednesday and Saturday).
Tip: Check what night it is — the event changes based on the in-game day. Sunday has no event. For Bloodring, focus on collecting the checkpoints rather than destroying opponents. For Dirtring, use controlled acceleration — the Sanchez slides easily. For Hotring, draft behind opponents and cut inside on the banking. If the wrong event is active, save your game to advance time or come back the next day.
4 Chopper Checkpoints
Four helicopter checkpoint races located at helipads around Vice City: Downtown (on top of the Hyman Condo), Vice Point (near the marina), at the airport, and on the Vercetti Estate roof. Each requires flying a Maverick or Sparrow through a series of floating checkpoints within a time limit.
Tip: The Hunter (attack helicopter) has excellent speed and handling once unlocked — use it if available. Keep the nose tilted slightly forward for constant momentum rather than stopping at each checkpoint. The Sparrow is available at multiple locations and handles well. Practice your hovering — precision matters more than raw speed. If you have the Hyman Condo safehouse, the helicopter on its roof is always accessible.
4 Sunshine Autos Vehicle Lists
At Sunshine Autos, there’s a garage downstairs with four list boards requesting specific vehicles. Deliver every car on each list to the garage. Each completed list unlocks a new vehicle in the showroom and contributes to the asset’s income. The lists get progressively harder as they request rarer vehicles.
Tip: Some vehicles only spawn in specific areas. Rare cars like the Banshee spawn near the North Point Mall; the Cheetah appears in Starfish Island driveways. Drive the target vehicle type around its spawn area to trigger more of the same model to appear (the game spawns vehicles matching what you’re driving). Collect one list at a time so you can track what’s missing. Check a vehicle location map for hard-to-find models.
Ammu-Nation Shooting Range (45 Points)
At the Downtown Ammu-Nation, there’s a shooting range challenge. You must score at least 45 points in one of the weapon challenges (the Shotgun or SMG challenge). The challenge involves shooting target pop-ups that appear at different distances within a time limit.
Tip: The SMG (MP5) challenge is generally the easiest for hitting the 45-point threshold — its rapid fire lets you clear multiple targets quickly. Aim for the closer targets first since they’re worth more time efficiency. Don’t waste ammo shooting at targets that are about to disappear. Keep your reticle at mid-screen height and sweep left to right. Once completed, this also unlocks fast reloads for all weapons as a permanent bonus.
Collectibles & Miscellaneous
Purchase All 7 Safehouses
There are seven safehouse properties you can buy across Vice City that serve as save points: El Swanko Casa (Vice Point), Links View Apartment (Vice Point), Hyman Condo (Downtown), 1102 Washington Street (Washington Beach), Ocean Heights Apartment (Ocean Beach), Skumole Shack (Downtown rooftop), and 3321 Vice Point (Vice Point). The Vercetti Estate is acquired through story progression, not purchase.
Tip: Total cost is roughly $100,000+ across all properties. Buy the cheapest ones first for more save points — 1102 Washington Street and the Skumole Shack are bargains. The Hyman Condo is the most expensive but includes a helicopter pad and a three-car garage, making it the best value overall. Spread your purchases so you always have a save point near wherever you’re grinding missions.
Rob 15 Stores
There are 15 stores across Vice City that can be robbed for cash. To rob a store, walk in with a weapon drawn, aim at the clerk, and keep the weapon pointed at them. The longer you hold them up, the more cash they drop in stacks — but eventually they’ll trigger the alarm, raising your wanted level.
Tip: Aim at the clerk and wait — they’ll drop cash up to four times, each stack worth more. Don’t shoot the clerk, just keep the reticle on them. Park a fast car directly outside for a quick getaway since you’ll hit 3-4 stars. Use Pay ‘n’ Sprays to lose the cops between robberies. Tool shops, jewelry stores, and pharmacies all count. Hit them all in one session while you’re already running from the law.
Complete All 35 Rampages
Rampages are floating skull icons scattered across the map that challenge you to kill a set number of specific enemies (gang members, pedestrians, or specific targets) with a specific weapon within a two-minute time limit. There are 35 total — fail and you can retry from the pickup location.
Tip: Do gang-based rampages in territories where those gangs spawn for easy kills — Haitian rampages in Little Haiti, Cuban rampages in Little Havana. Melee rampages (chainsaw, fist) are the hardest since you must close distance — lure enemies toward you. Vehicle rampages (drive-by) require an appropriate car. Position the rampage pickup so enemies funnel toward you. A few rampages are on rooftops only reachable by helicopter — get one early.
Complete All 36 Unique Stunt Jumps
Unique stunt jumps are marked ramps scattered across Vice City — they require hitting a ramp at speed and landing the jump cleanly. There are 36 jumps total, and a successful jump rewards a cash bonus and counts toward 100%. Many are simple ramps; others require precise angles and speed.
Tip: Use the fastest, most stable car you can find — the Infernus, Cheetah, or Banshee. Hit ramps dead straight and at full speed; angling causes spinouts. Some jumps require landing in a specific zone — overshooting or undershooting fails them. Use a stunt jump map to locate all 36. Several jumps are on bridges between islands; do them when crossing anyway. Watch for jumps that require backflips or specific midair positioning — they’re tricky but repeatable.
Collect All 100 Hidden Packages
There are 100 hidden packages (small green tiki statues) hidden across Vice City — in alleys, on rooftops, underwater, inside buildings, and in obscure corners. Collecting them all is one of the most time-consuming 100% requirements but unlocks milestone rewards at every 10 collected.
Tip: Get a helicopter ASAP — roughly 20+ packages are on rooftops only reachable by air. Use a detailed hidden package map and check off each one systematically. Milestone rewards: 10 packages = Body Armor at save points, 20 = Chainsaw, 30 = Python (.357 revolver), 40 = Flamethrower, 50 = Combat Sniper, 60 = Minigun, 70 = Rocket Launcher, 80 = Sea Sparrow at Vercetti Estate, 90 = Rhino spawns at Fort Baxter / hideout, 100 = Hunter spawns at army base. These rewards make everything else far easier, so prioritize packages early.
100% Completion Rewards
What You Unlock at 100%
Reaching 100% completion unlocks the following permanent rewards:
Unlimited Ammo: All weapons you’ve acquired have infinite ammunition — no need to visit Ammu-Nation ever again.
Rhino Tank: A Rhino tank spawns at the Vercetti Estate for free use — the ultimate mayhem machine.
Hunter Helicopter: The military Hunter attack helicopter spawns at the Vercetti Estate — armed with rockets and a minigun.
Franky Outfit: A special “Franky” outfit becomes available — the ultimate status symbol for completionists.
“Done It All” Achievement: The achievement/trophy for attaining 100% game completion — proof you’ve conquered Vice City in its entirety.
Tasks NOT Required for 100%
These activities are completely optional and do not count toward 100% completion, but they offer their own rewards and are worth doing for fun or bonus perks:
Paramedic / Pizza Boy Bonuses: While Paramedic Level 12 IS required (max health boost), going beyond or doing optional delivery missions offers extra cash but no additional completion percentage.
Outfits: Collecting all unlockable outfits (Cop, Bank Job, Casual, Soiree, Tracksuit, etc.) is not required for 100%. They’re fun cosmetics unlocked by completing specific story beats and asset missions.
Bonus Vehicles: Delivering bonus vehicles or completing optional delivery side jobs offers cash but does not affect completion percentage.
Arena / Stadium High Scores: Winning Stadium Events is required, but beating high scores or time attack records is purely optional bragging rights.
Killing / Chaos: Causing destruction, gaining wanted levels, or surviving rampages of your own making don’t count — but they’re a great stress test for all those 100% rewards.
