Overview
Vice Beach is the heart of Vice City’s social scene — palm-lined streets, art deco buildings, luxury hotels, and the kind of beaches that make the cover of travel magazines. This is the postcard Vice City. The neon-lit Ocean Drive where the beautiful people come to see and be seen.
Inspired by Miami’s South Beach and the iconic Ocean Drive, Vice Beach is where the glamour lives. Pastel hotels line the strip. Convertibles cruise slowly. The water is turquoise, the sand is white, and the money is old, new, and laundered.
In the Game
In the original Vice City, Ocean Beach (the equivalent area) was the starting point for many players — the first place you see when you arrive in the city. It set the tone: this is a beautiful place with ugly secrets.
In GTA 6, Vice Beach returns as part of Vice-Dale County, with neighborhoods including Ocean Beach and South Beach. Rockstar’s description: ‘The glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city.’
Then vs Now
The original Ocean Beach was a 1980s version of South Beach — neon, pastel suits, and cocaine money. In 2026, Vice Beach has evolved: influencers, luxury condos, and crypto money. But the bones are the same. The art deco buildings remain. The ocean hasn’t changed. Only the criminals have updated their wardrobes.
Real-World Inspiration
Based on South Beach, Miami — specifically Ocean Drive, the most famous street in South Florida. The real Ocean Drive is lined with preserved Art Deco hotels from the 1930s-40s, now some of the most valuable real estate in America.
