New Official GTA 6 Artwork Puts Jason and Lucia in a Bullet-Riddled Convertible — and 12 New Screenshots Land Tomorrow

Stop scrolling, Locals — Rockstar just gave us a brand-new look at Jason and Lucia. With 51 days to go until GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the studio has revealed original cover artwork for Game Informer’s huge new GTA 6 feature, and it is pure Vice City: our Bonnie-and-Clyde duo braced inside a red convertible riddled with bullet holes, guns drawn, tropical sunset bleeding out behind the skyline. The artwork is the appetizer. The main course is a 14-page Game Informer cover story with twelve — yes, twelve — new screenshots and interviews with key Rockstar developers, landing digitally tomorrow, September 29. ScreenRant, Vice and RockstarINTEL all have the goods, so this one is fully confirmed — not a leak, not a rumor. Official art, straight from the source.

What Happened: New Jason and Lucia Art, Straight From Rockstar

The cover itself is the story today. Rockstar painted the artwork specifically for Game Informer’s Issue 382 cover, and it packs more characterization into one frame than most games manage in a whole trailer. Lucia Caminos perches in the passenger door frame of the shot-up red convertible — denim shorts, red bandana, pistol up — while Jason Duval holds a handgun from behind the wheel, both of them framed against a saturated Florida sunset and the Vice City skyline. Bullet holes pepper the car’s bodywork. Nobody in the picture looks surprised about it.

It’s the clearest statement of tone Rockstar has made since the Netflix Extended Look: this is a game about two people who are in way over their heads and having the time of their lives anyway. ScreenRant calls it “the part” of the Bonnie-and-Clyde-esque story the pair are about to embark on, and the composition does the arguing for them — a couple, a getaway car, a skyline, and enough incoming fire to suggest the getaway is not going especially well.

Issue 382 is already shipping to Game Informer subscribers, with the print edition reaching bookstores and newsstands in the coming weeks. The digital edition — the one with the full feature — goes live Tuesday, September 29. If you want a rundown of every confirmed face you might spot in those new screenshots, our full GTA 6 character roster has you covered.

What’s Actually Inside the 14-Page Feature

Here’s where it gets meaty. The feature isn’t a photo spread — it’s a proper sit-down, with interviews with key Rockstar Games developers covering two of the game’s most ambitious systems:

The weather. The interviews dig into GTA 6’s advanced weather systems — built, we’re told, to simulate Florida’s less-sunny moods. Anyone who has lived through a real Sunshine State summer knows that means hurricane skies, sideways rain, and the particular green light that comes before everything goes very wrong. If Rockstar is finally talking about how storms actually work in Leonida, that’s new, concrete, systems-level information — the good stuff.

The ecosystem. The feature also covers what’s being called a staggering amount of wildlife roaming Leonida on land, air, and sea. That tracks with everything we’ve seen so far — and if you doubt how seriously fans are already taking GTA 6’s fauna, remember that the internet spent a full news cycle connecting the game’s manatees to Fire Emblem of all things. Expect the ecosystem section to Supercharge that conversation.

The feature also covers how the studio researched Miami itself to build Vice City — the fieldwork, the reference-gathering, the parts of South Florida that will and won’t survive the translation to Leonida. And then there are the 12 new screenshots: fresh, exclusive stills showing off Leonida’s sights and citizens. These are the first new officially released images since the Extended Look back in August, which is a long drought by GTA 6 standards — and exactly why tomorrow is going to be a very loud day on the internet.

Why a Magazine Cover Still Matters in 2026

There’s a wink of history here that older Locals will catch. Game Informer is where Rockstar broke cover on GTA 5 back in November 2012 — a full cover story that carried the world’s first real details and screenshots. Fourteen years later, Rockstar is running the same play for GTA 6: skip the noise, hand one outlet a big beautiful package, and let the scans and reaction threads do the distribution. It’s a scarcity play in an era of infinite content, and it works every single time.

It’s also a statement about the magazine itself. Game Informer was abruptly shut down in 2024, then brought back to life the following year — and landing the most anticipated game ever made as a cover story is about the loudest way possible to announce that the institution is back. For a game soaked in Vice City nostalgia, doing the promo tour through a resurrected print magazine is almost too on-brand.

And it fits the cadence of the last two weeks perfectly. Since mid-September we’ve had the 34-track official soundtrack announcement, the $400 collector’s box, the Xbox–PlayStation preorder tug-of-war, and Rockstar’s new mod guidelines. The marketing hose has been fully open for a while now — and tomorrow’s 14-pager is the biggest nozzle yet.

What This Means for GTA 6’s Final 51 Days

Two things, one small and one big. The small one: tomorrow’s screenshots will be torn apart pixel by pixel within hours. Every frame gets run through the Leonida rumor mill — new corners of the map, new character cameos, new hints about what’s interactive. If any of the 12 stills so much as brushes a coastline, expect the Key West map debate to reignite on sight.

The big one: Rockstar talking systems this close to launch — weather simulation, a living ecosystem, the research that built Vice City — reads like confidence. Studios don’t sit for 14 pages of how-it-works interviews fifty-one days before release unless the thing works. It rhymes with the point we made at the 50-day countdown mark: the September 30 milestone is the effective point of no return, and Rockstar is spending it on a magazine cover instead of silence. That tells you the plan.

As for the rest of us: the wait is almost administrative at this point. Pre-orders are open, the art is on newsstands, and the countdown clock keeps ticking toward November 19. If you haven’t locked yours in yet, you can pre-order GTA 6 for PS5 on Amazon or grab the Xbox Series X|S version here — and if you’re idling until launch week, our things-to-do-while-you-wait list just got a new item: reread a 14-page magazine feature like it’s 2012 again.

One art note before you go: this is the second time in two weeks Rockstar has shipped new Jason-and-Lucia imagery — the vinyl cover for GTA 6: The Album got its own never-before-seen art. The duo has gone from silhouette to full-blown cover stars without a single new trailer. When the fan-cast pieces are already casting imaginary movies around these two, you know the characters landed. Tomorrow, they get twelve more frames to prove it.
