Profile

Lucia Caminos is one of the two protagonists of Grand Theft Auto VI — and the first playable female protagonist in the main GTA series. She’s a fighter. Not by choice, but because life never gave her another option. Her father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and the world has been coming at her swinging ever since.

Fighting for her family is what landed Lucia in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out. Now she’s free, but freedom in Leonida comes with strings attached. The system doesn’t forget. The debts don’t disappear. And the people she fought for still need protecting.

Lucia has learned her lesson — or at least she’s trying to. Only smart moves from here. But smart moves don’t pay the rent, and smart moves don’t keep the people she loves safe. When she meets Jason Duval, she sees a way out — or maybe a way deeper in. A life with Jason could be her salvation or her destruction. The line between the two has always been blurry in Vice City.

What makes Lucia different from every GTA protagonist before her is her emotional depth. She’s not a lone wolf. She’s not a cold-blooded killer by default. She’s a woman who loves fiercely, fights desperately, and makes choices that blur the line between right and wrong. She’s the heart of GTA 6’s story — and the most anticipated character in gaming history.

Key Relationships

Jason Duval

Partner in crime and in life. Their Bonnie & Clyde bond is the emotional core of GTA 6.

Cal Hampton

Indirect connection through Jason. Cal’s paranoia and intel support their operations.

Brian Heder

The fixer in the Keys. Part of Jason’s network that Lucia inherits.

Vice City Connection

Lucia’s story is deeply rooted in Vice City’s Latin American community — the same community that Colonel Cortez and Mercedes Cortez represented in the original game. The Cuban and Latin American influence on Vice City has only grown in the 40 years between games.

Her arc echoes the original Tommy Vercetti storyline — someone released from prison, trying to build a life in a city that doesn’t play fair. But where Tommy was cold and calculating, Lucia is hot-blooded and emotional. Where Tommy built an empire alone, Lucia has Jason. The Bonnie & Clyde dynamic adds a romantic dimension that Vice City never had.

The name ‘Caminos’ — Spanish for ‘roads’ or ‘paths’ — suggests a character defined by the choices she makes and the paths she takes. In Vice City, every path leads somewhere dangerous.
